Cogges Manor Farm
Historic manor farm in Witney with animals, walled gardens, play and a relaxed countryside feel.
Cogges Manor Farm is a historic site on the edge of Witney that blends a small working farm with old manor buildings and walled gardens. Children meet pigs, goats, chickens, sheep and other farm animals, explore the orchard and gardens, and there is a natural play area and space to roam. It featured as a filming location for Downton Abbey, which adds interest for grown-ups.
The pace here is gentle and the scale is manageable for younger families. There are seasonal activities and craft events, a sandpit and play structures, and the walled garden is a lovely spot for a picnic on a fine day. The historic farmhouse rooms give a glimpse of rural life and add a quiet indoor element when the weather turns.
It suits babies through to primary-age children and is one of the more affordable and low-key farm outings in the area. Check the seasonal calendar, as opening varies through the year.
